Our Work

We would love to offer the opportunity to become further involved with our organization. Whether you are someone looking to give back to the community, have prior experience working with nonprofits, or are new to the world of nonprofits and are looking for a way in, we welcome you with open arms! Read below for what you can expect while working with us.

Event Planning

We plan and host a a myriad of fundraising and awareness events. As a member of the nonprofit, you will assist in the planning process and occasionally hosting such occasions.

Teamwork

Collaboration is a foundational skill amongst the Global Blessing personnel. We work not only with our members, but with community partners to achieve our goals.

Task Management

To organize events while improving on the organization takes prioritization skill. As a member, you will need to be able to work on tasks relevant for current activities and future ones.

Projects

Our organization has aspirations to extend outside of the metro-Atlanta to aid seniors in need wherever they are. We are committed to constant improvement in our implementation as an organization and our programs. 

Advocation

We advocate for seniors and for making communities more conducive toward the aging process of life in general. Having genuine passion for change and dedication to our cause is of importance, if you join our nonprofit.

Event Coordinator

This person is responsible for the planning and day of coordination for nonprofit events, such as fundraisers, networking luncheons, or the end of year gala. This person works closely with members in other departments.

Donor Relations Manager

This person is responsible for maintaining and fostering relationships between the nonprofit and its donors. This person tends to be outgoing and enjoys getting to know people.

Case Manager

This person is responsible for reviewing the initial applications for assistance and obtaining all necessary information by reaching out to the applicants. This person MUST receive HIPAA training before beginning and ideally has experience in social work or case management. Attention to detain and organizational skills are imperative for this person.

Grant Manager

This person is responsible for updating the grant list as they become available and taking the lead on preparing the applications. This person works closely with the exec board and is skilled in keeping to deadlines.

Marketing Specialist

This person is responsible for marketing and awareness efforts for the nonprofit. This person oversees all social media platforms, creates marketing distribution materials, and familiarity with audience optimization. This person uses their creativity to connect the nonprofit with the outside community.

Accountant

This person has experience in accounting and preferably in the nonprofit sector. This person MUST be certified and is responsible for overseeing and accounting for all outgoing an incoming funds. This person works closely with the exec board as well as other departments.

Researcher

This person is responsible for continuing to research the issue of senior impoverishment and homelessness/housing insecurity. This person will create informational document and deliver findings to nonprofit member to make sure the nonprofit is keeping to the development of the issue.

Volunteer Coordinator

This person is responsible for managing the volunteer program for the nonprofit and creating opportunities for volunteerism. This person works closely with the event coordination and other departments while maintaining relationships with current and interested potential volunteers. 

*Note: All of our positions are currently unpaid, volunteer positions. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school graduate
  • Experience working in the nonprofit sector
  • Time management skills
  • Experience with Google Applications, Microsoft Word, Monday, or TimeHero
  • Self-accountability and motivation
  • Passion for the mission of our nonprofit
  • Willingness to advocate for the nonprofit
  • Ability to work in a group and occasionally lead when necessary

Responsibilities/Expectation

  • Attend biweekly 1-hour meetings via zoom
  • Maintain communication within the team
  • Draft documents and memorandums pertinent to organization activities
  • Commitment to minimum of 2-5 working hours weekly on nonprofit activities
  • Be a part of the decision-making process
  • Support fundraising efforts
